Minecraft lan downloading terrain timed out

Log in or Sign up. Bukkit Forums. Today I started up minecraft like normal and went to play on my server. Everything was fine until one time downloading terrain took a bit longer then i had expected then it gave me and error saying "Connection Error - Timed Out". I tried restarting the game and re-downloading the game.

No luck. After about logging in 20 times and no results I logged in on a different account. I have read multiple topics on this problem but none of them give a straight answer. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. I am trying to run a private Minecraft server for a bunch of friends and am using the dedicated server.

My problem is, that I can join to my own server from my own machine, even through the external IP at any time, whereas my friends are unable to join the server once there is at least one person already playing. They keep receiving a Read Timed out -error during the "downloading terrain" phase while joining the server, or time out soon after they have successfully loaded and joined the server.

My theory is that you the remote host don't have a strong enough connection to ensure that other users besides you can connect to the server properly. Try running an internet speed test. Try reducing the amount of server data that other users have to load for example clearing blocks, removing various particle effects or otherwise getting a better internet connection or asking your friends to do so. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top. The backup of my server seems to work ok though, even with the latest Beta Something deep in the current server is wrong, but I no longer have the time to spare or the patience.

I am willing to let this issue go unresolved the cause and solution , since I have a working server again even with the current mod version. Another interesting detail about this issue: All the fast travel timers are set to 0. And when I fast travel, the timer counts down insanely quick, and then gets stuck in the loading screen forever.

Did you try having someone else join? See if they have the same problem, if they can join. Yes, both Faenor and I actually encountered this problem when we were about to launch the assault on Amon Lanc. It has since been postponed as fate would have it, since you were unavailable until this problem was fixed. I tried generating a brand new Forge server, then putting the mods inside it. I started it up with a new world, and everything worked fine, even the Middle Earth dimension.

The terrain generated, and I was able to move. So the "conflicting mod" hypothesis is now proven to be false, because everything worked fine with all the mods together. Interestingly though, when I tried replacing the new world with the world from the actual server and configuring the server properties as needed , the terminal blew up with a ton of errors, and the problem of endlessly floating with no terrain began to happen.

At this time, you need to change its version manually. Step 1. Open the Minecraft launcher and click on the Launch Options. Step 3. Then you can select a different Minecraft version from the drop-down menu. Step 4. Now, navigate to the News tab, and then click on the arrow next to the PLAY button and select the profile containing the Minecraft version that you have changed. After changing the Minecraft version, you can check if the Minecraft connection timed out the issue is resolved or not.

As for games, Minecraft Windows 10 or Java edition, which one is better? This post will analyze several key factors helping you select a suitable one. Sometimes your antivirus program will prevent the proper Internet access when the Minecraft game is not recognized as a genuine program, which may cause the Minecraft could not connect to Server issue.
